I am one of those girls you see hanging out in coffee shops, her nose buried so deep in a sexy romance that she barely even notices the cute guy in the corner checking her out. Barely. Oh, I notice him. But, I’ve learned to let him come to me. This took years of practice.  I’m talking years. 

Most of those years were spent right here in Los Angeles. I’ve gotten my groove on in all the hot clubs on Sunset Strip, sipped colorful cocktails in nearly every bar in Hollywood, and rubbed elbows (and other bits!) with loads of actor/model types at scores of parties in the Hollywood Hills. But that’s not to say that my life begins and ends in the City of Angels. I’ve been all over the U.S. from coast to shining coast, and even spent a few lovely vacations traipsing around the globe.

A lot of my writing is inspired by my travels, and I enjoy the thrill of re-living my excursions in each of my stories. But you’ll also find that I spend a lot of my creative energy sorting out life and love for the single girl in the big city. That’s because I’m just such a girl. I live in a really big city, and it can make you feel small if you let it. But, it can also make you feel like a glamorous Hollywood star if you know how to work it. And baby, I’m workin’ it!

These days I spend more time in coffee shops and bookstores than I do in bars and clubs, but just because I’ve grown up, that doesn’t mean I’ve gotten all old and stodgy. Au contraire. I’ve discovered a new breed of man. They’re often sober (or maybe just tipsy – not so stinking drunk they can’t stand up straight, and ladies I think you all know what I’m talking about here). They’re hip, but not so pulled together you have to fear that Mommy helped them pick out their clothes, or that they’re gay.  They’re employed, and I don’t mean working the drive-thru window at McDonald’s. And they know how to treat a woman – like the princess she is. Even when that princess likes to knock back dirty martinis and thinks that latex is truly God’s gift to women.

So who is Lucie Simone? I’m a single girl living, working and dating in Hollywood. When I’m not batting my eyelashes at cute boys in bookstores, I pen my fantasies and even some of my nightmares (first dates, bad dates, fast dates, and what-happened-to-my-date dates) for the amusement of others. I have a degree in journalism and in television production, I’ve worked in entertainment and in advertising, I have amazing girlfriends, some fabulous guy friends, and sometimes I even have a boyfriend.
